Bought a new 25W pump and this was the first brew I used it with ans my efficiency improved by 10%! So I will have to adjust recipes for future.
Also - I'm not sure why but I undershot the finished wort by about 4 Litres.
Maybe loss via hoses? Also small leak.

I don’t have BeerSmith set up for the home brew version, but here’s the vitals:
100% Pils malt.
Aim for 12p starting gravity and finish at 2p for 5.4%.
Mash 66 IIRC.
Light water treatment. Even numbers on CaCl and CaS04.
Aim for about 7 IBU at 60 (.17g/l on the AA% I had at the time)
11 IBU at 10. (.5g/l)
19 IBU at 0. (1.67g/l)
You might want to beef up the ten minute addition as it will be hard to get that much out of a homebrew scale. Decide based on your appetite for bitterness.
Pitch and ferment S189 at 12 with a VDK rest at 15.
4g/l dry hop.
Did I forget anything? Haven’t thought about how you make beer for a while... |

Notes: Heat sparge water, acidify with 1/2 tsp acid blend.
Crush grains, add rice hulls to aid lautering.
Dough in with 4 qts cold water, add water to reach ~ 1 qt/lb thickness, apply heat to reach sach temp of 154, mash until starch conversion complete, mash out at 167F.
Transfer to lauter tun, recirculate until clarified. Sparge with acidified sparge water to yield 7 gallons.
Add gypsum, bring to boil, add boiling hops, boil for 60 min. Add Irish moss finings and insert immersion chiller at 15 mins before end of boil. Add hops at 10 min and 2 min for finishing. |
