  • Rounding differences will cause minor variations in the stats after scaling. IBUs will differ the most because the relationship between boil volume and bittering units is not linear.

  • Scaling by Efficiency will only impact mashable fermentables and custom fermentables.
  • To keep the OG exact, the base malt is then selected and fine tuned. This will result in small changes in color.
  • A small change to the amount of dark malts, holding water volume fixed, leads to large changes in SRM and flavor. Therefore, only malts with a Lovibond below 15 are adjusted by this scaling method.
Do not use this tool to scale up to production recipes without expert input.
