Notes: IMPORTANT to add Lactose to Fermentables section. Yes, even if it is not fermentable. Otherwise it will not calculate into OG, FG and ABV.
I originally only had Lactose listed in "Other Ingredient" and thought my numbers on brew day and after fermentation were way off.
Adding the Lactose into Fermentables brought my number to almost dead on what was calculated. |

Notes: Instructions for Cold Mash:
- 8 hours before boil prepare the Cold Mash with dark malts:
- Dark Malts (240g) + Water (1L @ 20 Celsius), mix up every 1hour.
- remove the grains (hopbag, filter, etc) , store the cold mash
- Add the cold mash 15 minutes before boil’s finish with the Fuggle hop.
Instructions for Cold Brew Extraction:
- Almost the same instruction described above.
- This recipe (10 L - Coffee Stout) calls for 50g of coffee + 250ml of water@20Celsius to be added in secondary, probably in the 4th or 5th day of the fermentation.
- Put 50g of ground coffee in 250ml of water and let it rest for 12h-18h. Use a coffee filter or a French press to filter and store in the refrigerator. Add this cold brew in the 4th or 5th day of the fermentation.
Expectativa usar 10 litros de mash water + 5 litros Sparge + 0.8 litro de extrato de cold mash nos 15 minutos finais. = 16 litros de agua.
Calculadora gf aponta 16,5 l. Segundo receita, expectativa é ter 13,5litros antes da fervura.
