Notes: The Galaxy single-hop NEIPA turned out pretty good, but a single hop wasn't enough. I'm attributing the brighter yellow color to the high percentage of oats (18.5%).
Ended with much lower efficiency than previous brew of the same recipe. Not sure why. Only intentional change to mash was more CaCl than previous (5g instead of 4g) and let it sit longer, but could have been a number of other factors relating to technique, length of mash etc. |

| Notes: Comments: Be sure to adjust bittering hop amount to get 33 IBUs at your boil volume (mine is reduced). Assuming you don't mash overnight you should mash in around 67-68 C instead. 25L volume is to allow for trub separation (big loss) with 23 L in the primary pail. Plenty of malts in there so you don't have to be Dr. Lager to pull off a nice beer. |
