Notes: I can't put my finger on it, but the Mecca grain adds something to the base malt flavor. It's becoming one of my go-to grains despite the small increase in cost.
Light body ale with a just a bit of fruitiness and a really nice hop aroma from the Citra. No bitterness to speak of but not malty or sweet.
Low white head, very clear pale sparkling yellow color.
The Citra hops flavor really come thu on this one, Very drinkable.
For whatever reason I love this beer with spaghetti and meatballs! |

I bought this kit from MoreBeer. The original name was StrataGem. I changed the hopping timing around to make it a bit hoppier.
Strike temp = 8.5 gallons at 157 degrees F. Mash temp = 150 degrees F for 60 minutes.
SG = 11.8 brix = 1.0475 g/L (7 gallons)
OG = 5.5 gallons at 15.1 Brix (1.0616 g/L)
FG = 1.011 g/L on March 7, 2021. Legged all 5 gallons.
Pitched Verdant IPA yeast (dry) directly into wort (60 degrees F). I will let it free rise. |
