Notes: Aged 1-2 years in merlot barrels of a 60-gallon size. Med+ toast levels increased nutty flavors and deep mocha notes w/ dry merlot finish on the tongue and balanced oak notes from the aging.
Packaging ideas: serve in 750 ml glass bottles, with red/black glass like a red wine. |

På bryggedagen legges rosiner og kanelstang i et lite glass med ca 2 dl sprit av eget valg. Legg lokk på glasset, og når 7 dager av gjæringen har gått kan du tømme hele innholdet rett nedi gjæringskaret. Her er det en veldig engelsk ale, så vi i Kjeller 5 anbefaler å bruke enten whisky eller gin - ta det du liker best! |

Notes: Brewed 12/29/16 started at 1:29 PM heated 3 gallons of water to 155 degrees took 27 minutes. heat turned down to 2-3. soaked grain for 30 minutes pulled out the grain brought 3 gallons to boil took 18 minutes. 4-5 to keep boil on. added more Galena hops at the beginning than I wanted. will lower next batch. flameout at 3:51 PM put in 32 degree garage for 2 hours then put yeast in at 5:55 PM. cleanup done at 4:22 PM. yeast looks great after 2 days. will wait 7 days to put into secondary.
Bottled on 1/21/17. accidently put some of the priming LME into batch 16. Made 38 bottles. Conditioning temp was 59.0 F |

Notes: 7×70 IPA clocks in at 7% ABV and 70 IBUs (hence the name) and starts with a citric burst from the Amarillo, El Dorado, and Citra hops in the boil. A lean malt bill that lets the hops really shine through with only 2-row and a touch of lightly toasted pale malt. The dry hop features a second boost of tropical citrus from Calypso hops, as well as a slap of pine from the Simcoes.
