Notes: Mashed in - lost 3 degrees from kettle to mash tun for this 10g. batch. Tried to adjust pH from 5.8 with malic acid. Added maybe 5 or 6 drops - didn't seem to move anything. Fail. Mash settled at 153. Mixed chemicals all into mash - none into sparge.
First - 1.085
Middle - 1.050
Last - 1.008
Preboil 1.048 so we added a gallon to bring it down to 1.044
OG 1.054
gained .08 SG when boiling 10 g. batch

Whirlpool hops at 170F.

Notes: Ik weet niet precies hoe je installatie werkt en hoeveel je verliest aan het graan (absorptie). Ik zou mikken op een volume van 35 liter voor het begin van de kook zodat je na 75 minuten koken op zo'n 30 liter uit zou komen. Ik heb hier 40 liter maisch water staan, dan zou je misschien met een liter of 3 spoelwater op 35 liter uitkomen.
Inmaischen op een graad of 50. Dit 10 minuten laten staan en dan verhitten totdat je op 62 uitkomt. Dit is de temperatuur voor de rest van de omzetting.
Circuleren tijdens het maischen voorzichtig doen, eventueel als het graanbed teveel instort tijdens het circuleren gewoon met een spatel gaan roeren tijdens het verhitten.
Zet vlak voor het einde van de kook de pomp weer aan (om em te ontsmetten) en ga dan tijdens het koelen circuleren, hierdoor koel je veel sneller.
Voeg de suiker pas na een paar dagen vergisting toe. Hierdoor heb je minder kans op hogere alcoholen ('terpentine bier').
4 weken (ish) laten gisten. Dan bottelen met 7 of 8 gram suiker per liter. |
