Notes: This recipe was exported from https://brewgr.com.
My prior recipe was excellent, so I am using different hops and less water and 2-Row for this recipe. The water is filtered, thus adding Gypsum, Calcium Carbonate and canning salt to enhance hops and flavor. The hopstand is at 170 degrees.
I am using an Anvil Foundry. I will pump and whirlpool the hopstand at 170 degrees.
Brewing Instructions:
1. Add 6.25 Gallons of filtered water to Anvil Foundry
2. Add Gypsum, CS, CC to mash water.
3. Heat Anvil to 157, Add 1# rice hulls, let settle
4. Lower temp to 154, add grain, sit 10 min to settle
5. Start pump, trickle 60, stir q 15 mins
6. Lift basket, sparge 1.25 gal 175, start boil @ drain
7. Boil, 1 Newport and 1 Summit at 15 min
8 Flame out, Cool to 170 degrees.
9. Hopstand Whirlpool Citra in muslin bag
10. Finish cool down to 70. Whirlpool 10 min
11. Transfer to fermenter, pitch yeast
13. Ferment 14 days, dry hop Citra in muslin bag, remove, 2 day dh |

Notes: chamomile goes into hopstand and 80 C followed shortly after by cascade hop addition at around 75C.
I think Cascade at late addition like that will give it a citrusy lemon/lime aroma/flavour which Ella should also give as a late dry hop addition. Hoping to compliment the fruity yet earthy sweet flavour of chamomile. |
