| Notes: This looks like a very interesting recipe. It uses flaked rice to smooth out the taste. For hops the original recipe called for only 35 grams, but the Fuggles at 4.5AA only yields 20 IBUs. I added 10 more grams to reach a target of 28 IBUs. |

To make a low alcohol beer with the spent grains, sparge or mash with 5.5 gallons of mash water temp. Boil for 60 minutes. Add 1oz of hops (your choice but low AA) at beginning of boil. Chill and pitch your favorite yeast.

| Notes: Place apple juice in refrigerator over night. Mash grains, sparge and squeeze to obtain 2 gallons of wort, follow hop schedule and at the end of the boil, add 64 oz fresh grapefruit. Add apple juice to fermenter, then add wort to it. Aerate and Pitch yeast. Dry hop once the fermentation has nearly subsided. |

Notes: Mucking about with a basic halfway between brown and golden ale...then infusing a dose of Orange puree and peels in the flameout for 20-30 minutes.
The Goldswaen was thrown in to raise the ABV and deepen the color. The White Wheat for head retention and mouthfeel. I haven't figured out how to input a custom malt yet, I will use Viking Extra Pale Malt, but it is 1.6-1.8 in color and the stats are from Viking Pale Malt. The CaraAmber contributes amber color, malty aroma. The Puree is to attempt to impart Orange or an otherwise unremarkable sorta clone of ?Blue Moon? with Jarrylo hops? |
