It was my first attempt at a BIAB, so I had no idea how efficient my setup would be. Turns out, not very. Honey was a late add to the wort just before pitching the yeast to get the OG up a bit. Blackberries were pureed roughly and added to the secondary.

If I had to do it again I would reduce the IBU to 26. The addition of eclipse hops has given the beer a orange /mandarin flavor which is extremely appealing. I will keep this formula exactly the same with the slight reduction in the IBU.

Hoppy on the nose and in the first taste but finishes with a nice malt flavor in the mouth as it runs down the “boggan hill” of your satisfied throat. The Hopboggan is an easy ride on the slopes at 5.6% ABV but with the bite of a cold February morning boasting a hearty 73 IBU’s. Take a ride on the Hopboggan!
