Notes: Based on Weldwerk Brewing's Juicy Bits NEIPA, Mujoose is super smooth and juicy.
It won a Gold and Best in Class at the New Zealand Northern Region Amateur Winemakers and Brewers Association Regional Competition on the 10th October 2020, with a BJCP score of 46/50.

Mash at 149°F (65°C) for 60 minutes or until conversion is complete. Add half of the water salt additions to the mash and the rest at sparge. Add the FWH hops during runoff, immediately after vorlauf, and allow them to steep in the hot wort as the mash is sparged.
Boil for 90 minutes. Whirlpool for 40 minutes (from start to rest) following the hops schedule.
Pitch the yeast and ferment at 67°F (19°C) for 2–3 days, then allow the temperature to rise slowly to 73°F (23°C) by the end of fermentation to ensure full attenuation. When fermentation reaches 1.5–2° Plato from terminal gravity (1.020–1.022), add the first dry-hop addition. About 3 days later, drop temp to 14C and dump sediment, add the second dry-hop addition for another 3 days.
Cold crash to 1C and then dump sediment .
Package at 2.6 volumes of CO2 and consume fresh. |

Trees overhang my yard on two sides. Neither are technically mine, as they are planted in the neighbors' yards, but they are encroaching on my rented property and I, therefore, feel entitled to the literal fruits of my air rights. The plums from these trees fall, burst, and soil my motorcycle, in roughly that order. As I'm sure you can guess, dried plums are a bitch to clean off of a motorcycle. I hope you forgive my feeling justified in the (alleged) plum theft and think of it as tacit reparations for the accumulated vehicular aggravations.
I will move the motorcycle and ascend the slightly taller than average stepladder that I keep outside the converted garage I call home, and frequently use to retrieve the boil kettle from my top shelf, unsuccessfully ignoring the unfortunate collection of dust in which it has been resting in since last brew day, and climb as I high as I am able, hopefully on a day in which my dystonia isn't active enough to shake me off of the aforementioned stepladder, and retrieve these small golden fruits, sized and shaped like roma tomatoes, to be waterboarded under a dry saison with a clean, slightly peppery finish, that nicely balances the tartness of the stone fruit.

Notes: Mash 2-row, corn, and wheat at 146° F (63° C) for 50 minutes. Raise to 155° F (68° C) and hold for 15 minutes. Mash out at 168° F (75° C). Boil for 70 minutes. Cool to 67° F(19° C) and pitch starter (Boulevard uses a proprietary house Belgian yeast; the suggested strains are purportedly closest in character). Ferment at 70° F (21° C) until high krausen. One day later, boil 1 lb corn sugar (or 1.5 lb if kegging) with enough water to dissolve, then cool and add to primary. Ferment until terminal gravity of 1.009 is reached. Rack on to dry hops and hold 3 days. If bottling, prime with 1 cup (207 g) of corn sugar at packaging for approximately 3.3 volumes of CO2. If kegging, carbonate to 3.3 volumes.
