Add LACTIC ACID at start of boil ... 5 ml
This recipe uses reverse osmosis (RO) water. Add 2 tsp. calcium chloride, ½ tsp. calcium sulfate (gypsum), and ¼ tsp. sodium chloride (non-iodized) to the mash water before mashing-in.

Dry hop1 with Kvieking 2 days post pitch, 1 ounce Idaho 7, 2 ounce mosaic
Dry hop2 I oz I7, 3 ounces of Mosaic
Kegged Keiviking on 7/12 and the sample was pretty dern good. It has a firm bitterness that I was not expecting... It may be hop burn. It'll carb up it'll get another sample.
Verdant finished at 1.026 for 7.1%. sample was awesome.

Pitched at 75 F and raised temperature 3 F per day until reaching 90 F. Beer was left to ferment for a total of 14 days.
First Attempt
In keg, beer had a bit of a slight sulphur or yeast smell, but was still really good. The beer was hazy. After bottle conditioning this was gone, but the beer completely cleared and was a little "hot" with alcohol flavor and a bit fruity tasting. Next time cool and ferment at 64 F for three days before free rising to 90 F. This beer was entered into the Best of the Bay competition. |

Notes: Goût de cerise sucrée mais aucune cerise dans la recette. La fumée et l'amertume sont bien balancées et subtiles. Le Jarrylo, ou autres variétées très terreuses au boil vont bien avec le style.
Cette recette n'a pas besoin de beaucoup de tweaking à mon goût (JK)...Excellente. |
