| Notes: Make yeast started. Peated malt - 152 deg for 45' in ANVIL brew system. Sparge other grains and malt extract. Boil 60' adding flavor hops at 45' and aroma ones at end. Nutrients +_ I Moss last 10 minute. Wort chiller to cool. Add yeast starter. Plan to dry hop in secondary 3 d before bottling. May add 1 oz. of dark oak chips also for the final 3days. | Notes: clean and drinkable but according to judges, is a little thin compared to style. Recommend adding an additional pound of DME and maybe a little carafoam to add body and mouthfeel. Many stout junkies at local home brew shop very much enjoyed this one, didn't recommend any changes unless I was to enter it in competition. |
