Process notes:
1) Mash for 90min @1.5 qt/lb
2) Boil hard for 90min, adding hopstand hops @ flameout for 15mins
3) For fake hopback, do a 5 minute hopstand with lots of agitation before turning on the chiller. |

Notes: Can use different hops for hopstand and dryhop. Experiment by making 10gal and try different hops in 4-2 1/2 gal batches.
Brewed 5 gallons. Split into 2.5 gallon batches. First one transferred to Fermzilla and cold crashed with 3 oz of hops. Should be half that much! Will check after 24 hours.

Notes: 9/5/17 Finally adding notes (from memory). Ended up with ESB as I boiled too aggressively and ended up with 5.25 in the fermenter instead of the planned 6.5. I attribute that to it being my first attempt at
no-sparge. I don't remember, and can't find, the gravity reading. It was in line with what you would expect. Cold crashing now. |
