Notes: Can source it all deom the hop amd grain on one order but the LME is out of stock.
Use some distilled water to help make the batch up and possibly aerate some water the day before.
Ended up alot like briss kiss me any time recipie. Could maybe change to bulk saaz hops for bittering too if I get a bulk bag.
Saw an award wining extract recipie, used 1 tin light and 1 tin amber, guess that gave the malty flavour and colour without steeping. Used Chinook for bittering.
With all the crystal malt, may need to bitter further with hops and it seems a bit sweet, add some normal dme to round out flavour and decreased the crystal from 1kg to 500g.
Some suggestion to pitch yeast at 7c, then increase temp to 10c and hold, no need for rest at the end. Other suggestions of stepping up a degree over time. |

Ingredients:
2.5 Gallons Tap Water
4 Gallons Bottled Water – Note: even though this is a 5.25 gal recipe you will need extra because of the fluid loss during the boil process
1lb Caramel 10L Grain
.5lbs Carapils Grain
1lb Vienna Grain
5bs Golden Light DME
5oz Cashmere Hops
1 Safale US-05
Procedure:
Start with 2.5 gal tap water, add grain to cold water and heat water to 165 degrees, and steep grains for 45 minutes
Remove grains and bring wort to boil
Remove pot from heat, add 1lbs Light DME and 6lbs Gold extract and return wort to boil
Add 1oz Cashmere hops and boil for 60 minutes
Add 2oz Cashmere hops and boil for 30 minutes
Add 1oz Cashmere hops and boil for 5 minutes
Add enough bottled water to bring the specific gravity to 1.047
Cool wort to 70 degrees
Add 1 packsof Safale US-05 yeast
Fermentation:
Primary – 2 weeks
Secondary – 2 weeks
Add 1oz Cashmere Hops 5 days before bottling
Keg:
4 weeks after brew date

Notes: Steep all grains for 30 min at 154 in 1 gallon of water. Strike temp of 170 works well with amount of grain.
Move to large pot and add water to Boil with 3 gallons. Add DME just before boil. Add bettering hops at boil.
Whirlfloc at 10 min before flameout. Add flavoring hops at same time.
Use immersion chiller to bring down to 74 deg within 15 minutes.
Dry pitch yeast right into wort.
Ferment 2 weeks. Move to secondary at 7-10 day mark.
Cold crash...use gelatin to fine if desired. |

Notes: 2 lbs amber DME added before boil, 5 lbs Munich LME added at 30 mins into boil. Added 2 teasponns LD Carlson yeast energizer at 10 minutes before end of boil. Yeast pitched at 60 degrees F. Temp controlled fermentation at 66.2 degrees F (19 C). 19.5L total volume, about 2.75 gallons boil volume. Total volume consists of approximately 3 gal RO water and 2 gal distilled water. |
