Notes: Got 6 jars of Eden's for FREE. 20 oz each. Slightly thinner than extract - like molasses - so dissolve and get a preboil OG to know hopping rate with goal of 35 IBU. Then see what I get.
Boiling 7 G water at OG yielding aprox. 5% beer. Boiled 90 minutes.
Preboil OG of 7 gallons was 1.038. 6 gallons into primary fermentation. Estimated to be 4.5% beer because syrup was slightly thinner than extract.
Color of a porter. 1st rack planned to be at 7 days. Fermented in 3 days! Gravity will be recorded then. |

Notes: **1/2/2020- I stopped fermentation with 8g of a sorbate/sulfite mix from a wine kit and added 1qt of Pear Juice in to back sweeten. Then cold-crashed and kegged and after 4 months it is amazing! I bottled the whole keg in order to make room in the keezer, and also because it's not an everyday drinker.
12/19/2019- Made this with 1.75G of Apple Juice and 3G of Pear. Unfiltered, unpasteurized. Ascorbic Acid in juice, but shouldn't be a problem. It was poured onto a WL-007 Dry English Ale yeast cake. Fermentation started in about 1-2 hours. NOTE: The sugar is not really added to the recipe, the OG here was lower than my measurements. |

Notes: After 3-4 days:
Add 1.75 L Simply Lemonade and 10 oz (1-1/4 cups) Torani Blood orange syrup after primary fermentation is done. This is where the added sugar comes from.
Dry hops 1 oz each per 5 gal keg fermenter.
Testing Mango IPA: 1.75 L Simply Lemonade/Mango + 1 cup Torani Mango syrup, same dry hops.
Testing pumpkin ale: no lemonade, no dry hops. add 1 cup pumpkin spice syrup + spices to secondary. Spices: 1 tsp cinnamon, 0.5 tsp ginger, 0.25 tsp cloves, 0.5 tsp vanilla.
