I created it to test out a new brew set up...but great tasting beer for improving your brewing skills/honing brewing numbers or for beginners starting out. Will leave you with a great tasting beer at the end!
IBUs have been kept low on purpose...but this should serve as a base recipe to tweak. Change the hops to your taste...1st hop is for a light bittering and the second hop is all flavour and aroma.

Notes: Retry of the Helles yeah, which tasted great but I bottled too early after ignoring my hydrometer. Will leave fermentation for longer this time; though trying with Munich lager yeast rather than Bavarian lager.
Note also I made a major spill on this so lost a few litres on transfer to fermenter.
Put it on 14-15 degree rest for last 2 days with dry hops.
FG came out 1.012 so did well! |

Notes: Based on the Darkstar hophead which is cascade heavy but I think will really compliment the elderflower and give a great summery pale elderflower brew.
I actually switched to a fine milled Malt this time and as a result, my brewhouse efficiency went up to 75% hence I over-shot my OG by around 6 points, no biggy!
After 24hrs in the fermenter, it's absolutely rocketing, almost a continuous gurgle from the airlock. |
