Notes: Beer Recipe
1. Heat strike water up to 160F/ 71C.
2. Sit the brew bag into the water and slowly pour in the combined grain making sure to not create grain balls.
3. Mash in your grain at 152F/ 67C for 30 minutes stirring regularly. Note, make sure to keep an eye on temperature throughout.
4. After the mash in time is complete, heat up the mash to 175F/ 80C for mash out and pull the bag out.
5. Bring the mash to the boil and add the bittering hops right after the "hot break" to avoid boil over. You can also add your prepared blueberries.
6. With 10 minutes to go, add the aroma hops and stir.
7. Last hop drop is at 0 minutes.
8. Turn off heat source and cool down wort.
9. Pitch yeast at 65F.
10. Pour wort into fermenter and aerate.
11. Allow to ferment for roughly 8 days.
12. After fermentation, add primming solution and bottle beer.
13. Condition for roughly 5 days in bottles.
Blueberry prep
1. Mash up blueberries in a pot.
2. Add to a cheese cloth. |

Target final wort volume is 3.5 gallons in 5 a gallon carboy primary fermentor. Measure wort gravity in Gigawort after boiling and cooling (68F). Transfer wort to primary fermentor. The volume will be less than the 3.5 gallon target. Using the Dilution and Boil Off calculator determine the amount of source water needed to dilute to target gravity. Regardless, the wort volume should end up between 3.25 and 3.5 gallons.
At 10-days to 2 weeks transfer 3 gallons off of trub to a 3 gallon carboy. Let it condition for 2 weeks before bottling.
