Added 200g extra flaked oats, 2 tsp lactic acid mash ph was 5.6
Oxygenated wort for 4 minutes. Og was 1.052
Used 4 tbsp yeast slurry and 1 litre of apple juice the night before. High krausen less than 24 hrs. Dry hopped 2 oz of sabro citra and eldorado
6th batch oxygenated wort for 4 minutes 1.052 og.
High krausen next day, added 2 oz citra 2 oz eldorado. 2 oz citra sabro 24 hrs before crashing
7th, everything same except 150g toasted barley, 350g flaked oats. 1 oz citra el dorado yqh grapefruit whirlpool, same for dryhop. 1 day after pitch, again 2 days before crashing
8th- as per recipe, used hydra, dry hop on day 1, 1 oz of each, dryhop on day 3, 1 of each.
9th 500g flaked 500g chit malt. Citra sabro galaxy
10th 650g flaked, 500g wheat, 500g chit malt. Amarillo bittering, 2 oz each sabro and bru 1 whirlpool. 1 oz each sabro bru 1 galaxy dryhop x 2.

Got recipe from instagram - 1oz = 28 grams
Started water around 415pm - 7.75 gallons...had a lot of boil off last time...I also don't have as much grain...decisions...drained a bit of water off to get just below 7.75 gallons - more of a mental decision..stirring every 15 mins...color is great amber - definitely not a pale ale...at 36 mins temp is 154' - great mash conversion -
brew day went well...it was hard to lower the temp...took it to the basement to cool down and settle our...after 24hours I dumped the "pre-fermentation" trub...I put in my keezer and set temp at about 67 degrees...pitched the yeast and it went nuts!!! Fermented for a week...1.018, dry hopped for 3.5 days then cold crash..and direct transfer to keg...there was a ton of trub that needed to clear before an easy flow into the keg...look forward to tasting it tonight! |
