Notes: This recipe is based on the Mexican Lager recipe on Clawhammer Supply website. Note however that a few changes have been made to match the style of an International Amber Lager. First, I’m using less than 1/2 the hops, with an 30 minute addition of Hallertau. All of the grains are the same with simple modifications. One pound less Pilsner, one half pound more Vienna Malt, and a half pound more Crystal 60L. The mash temp is set to 152 to make a slightly drier beer. (I’m not sure whether 156 was supposed to be the strike temp or the mashing temp.)
I believe these changes will make a richer tasting beer. |
