Notes: Spargeless. Had a few stuck mashes at start of recirculation - not sure what was the cause. Mixed everything up after a good stir and gravity immediately started rising rapidly. Used gloves and plate to push all remaining wort out of mash tun after mashout. Will likely sparge for next batch.

Notes: My mash tun is a 10 gallon size, and this brew has it about 35-40% full. It does very poorly at this volume, so the 2 mash 'infusion' steps that add about 1/2 gallon of boiling water are really just there to help it regulate a good mash temp over the 90 minutes.
It's really intended to be more of a single step mash @152 but these adjustments are just for my equipment.
Recommend bagging the strawberries to minimize the haziness.
All the salts/soda/acids pertain to my water profile.
When I added the strawberries (and they thawed) the gravity went up by about 3pts. My OG was more like 1.055 and 1.008 FG. |

Notes: Used hallertau instead of ultra. could not find ultra. Used imperial organic yeast instead of London 1968. I used 5 lbs of Marris Otter in stead of two row. I used 5 table spoons of PH powder and 1/2 teaspoon of gypsum. I made a two liter starter with two cans of wort and a 200b can of Imperial Organic yeast thats about the same as London 1968. I set the grain mill to .035 and got great efficiency. Did a slow batch sparge. |
