- A atividade da levedura não foi intensa
- Somente a carbonatação durante a fermentação 1,5 e maturação 1,2 proporcionaram a carbonatação ideal da cerveja.
- A oxigenação fez com que o starter escurecesse (normal according to Jamal)
- Um pouco de harsh devido ao uso do lupulo em 60min

Notes: 2nd version of a Verdant IPA that gave a very golden yellow colour with lots of citrus, peach and apricot flavour.
The hops used are to bring even more stone fruit, peach and apricot flavour that is attained through this yeast strain.
There seems to be an imbalance with the hops v malt. I had a stuck mash and conversion was lower than predicted despite using the rice hulls.
The beer isn't bad but next time I think I will use a standard bittering hop and dry hop with more 'exotic' varieties.
Plenty of fruit and very easy drinking, a tad too bitter and again unbalanced. There were issues with bottling and some dead yeast found its way into all the bottles which affected the flavour. |

Notes: Didn't enter the recipe ahead of time which lead to what could be a few problems in duplicating the recipe;
We didn't double the hops during boil, should have been 4 oz + 4 oz at each of the additions instead of what we did with 2 + 2.
We didn't get a water profile ahead of time, added salts based on another IPA that we had done previously.
Ca low, HCO3 high, but sulfate/chloride ratio spot on.
Need a bigger mash tun
Water in mash tun got to 180F during sparge--got sparge water too hot. |

Mouthfeel too thin for style
Beer is clear - (no haze)
Beer is too bitter for style
All of these things are absolutely true.
So, I actually genuinely like this beer. It’s just probably not NEIPA-ish enough to be called a NEIPA. |
