Notes: Place apple juice in refrigerator over night. Mash grains, sparge and squeeze to obtain 2 gallons of wort, follow hop schedule and at the end of the boil, add 64 oz fresh grapefruit. Add apple juice to fermenter, then add wort to it. Aerate and Pitch yeast. Dry hop once the fermentation has nearly subsided. |

I won a 55 lb bag of 2 row in the COTU wort share competition. When I made this beer my scale broke so I had to use the scale from our bathroom. It was a bit challenging and inaccurate which I believe was the cause for the low OG.

Notes: Place liquid malt extract in hot water for 20 minutes. Bring 3 L water to a boil, and add yeast nutrient. Add malt extract, maltodextrin and the hot water to the fermentor. Stir well. Fill up with cold tap water, total 19 liters. Shake. Make sure that the wort temp is 18-22 degrees C when adding yeast. Add dry hops, citric acid and grapefruit juice on day 4. |
