Notes: After secondary/brightening - kegged and placed in kegerator for 2 weeks at 50 degrees.
Just pulled the first pint - nice malty flavor w/ a touch of bitterness.
Minimal aroma by design.
Small, tight, slightly off-white head. Nice lacing. A little "thin" mouthfeel. Perhaps I should increase the torrified wheat a bit?
For my first all grain, I'm very pleased.

Notes: 0 min boil Hop = Post Boil Swirl Hops.
Mash at 150F. Kill the flame after the 90 min boil and Add the 0 min hops, swirl, cover and let sit for 60 minutes. After 60 min, drop the temp quickly, pitch and ferment at 66F for the first two days, then raise 4 degrees over the next two days to 70F and let sit for a total of 14-17 days. Cold crash to 37F before racking to secondary, then let the beer warm back up to pitching temperature before dry hopping. I like to rack to a layer of CO2 covered hops (in this case, sack full of whole hops) in secondary. Add the corn sugar to a cup of water and boil for 5 minutes, chill and pitch when ready to bottle. Bottle at 70F. |

Notes: Looking for something very easy to drink with nice hop flavor and some body. I'm not a fan of the fruity esters in most Hefeweizens so I'll be using just Ale yeast. This is 100% just the recipe for Boundary Waters Wheat from Midwest Brewing Supply. I buy the 5 gallon kit and divide it up to suit the size of my current equipment. I also lowered the bittering hop addition some. |

Notes: -2-3 weeks before brew day, create tincture with spices by grinding all materials together, covering with liquor (vodka ideally).
-Mash and boil
-Chill wort after boil to around 80 degrees
-Inoculate with lacto. blend
-Keep at around 90 degree Fahrenheit
-After 3 days, bring wort to boil
-SOON after wort begins to boil, chill to 60 degrees Fahrenheit
-Inoculate with sach.
-Toast coconut in oven for 15 minutes.
-Add tincture and toasted coconut late during active fermentation (day 2 or 3). |
