| Notes: First rendition of this hazy DIPA. OG came out much lower than expected due to a volume boil error, added 2lbs of table sugar to reach desired gravity. Even with recipe juggling and added sugar came out very drinkable. Nice hop aroma, good body and very juicy. Color was a little darker than desired due to use of liquid extract. V02 of this recipe will be all-grain, more oats and no sugar additions. |

Notes: Partial mash Recipe.
Steep grains in 1.7 gallons of water for 60 min at 150. Start at 163.
Sparge grains into brew pot with 1 gallon of 150 water.
Bring pot to 3.5 gallons and bring to boil
Take off heat, add sugars.
Bring to a boil and add challenger hops. boil 60 min.
15 min, add 1 oz nugget and irish moss.
10 min 1 oz chinook
2 min 1 0z nugget
Take off heat and immediately chill with wort chiller
strain beer into primary fermentation and bring level to 5.25 gallons.
Pitch yeast at 68 degrees. Let sit in primary fermentor at 67 degrees for 1 week.
Transfer to secondary fermentor for 7 days and then add dry hop of 1 oz chinook.
Let sit 7 more days.
Mix priming sugar (5.8 oz DME) with 2 cups of water boiled for 10 minutes.
Bottle. Enjoy

Notes: Flame out and reduce to 90ºC and add 25g of Cascade and peel of one grapefruit. Whirlpool if possible.
Cool to 21ºC transfer to fermenter and aerate.
Peel the 2 remaining grapefruits and keep in the fridge with a splash of vodka to sterilise.
Add one peel of one grapefruit during peak of fermentation (likely 48 hours)
Add 25g of Cascade and peel of one grapefruit at around 1.020.
Cold crash with gelatin finings for 48 hours then bottle/keg.
