Notes: Yup...tastes like coconut cake.
No clarifiers...meant to be hazy.
Split open and scraped vanilla beans; then dissolved them in 50ml of vodka for about 3 weeks before adding at the kegging stage.
Put toasted coconut in a muslim bag at kegging time. It needs to be weighed down to sink.

Notes: A variation on George Washington's Porter recipe. Porter has been a popular beer style in America since the founding of our country. Others where known as Pennsylvania porter, Virginia Porter, each area had various styles. In 1789 George Washington presents his "buy American" policy indicating he will only drink porter made in America. |

Notes: 3/25/11 - 1.019. 1.25 oz muddled mint leaves, 6 oz of baker's chocolate racked into secondary fermentor. Tastes real good, slight off taste that lingers, otherwise real good.
3/28/11 - 1.018 - Real strong mint flavor, hopefully the carbonation and cold serving temp will dull the mint out a little. Want to bottle ASAP so the mint doesn't grow anymore. Wish I could get some more chocolate and less mint. I do love mint, but I don't know if others will. |
