Simply put, Headroom is the hoppiest beer we've ever brewed with more than 7 lbs. per barrel featuring heavy doses of Galaxy & Mosaic. This is a truly special Double IPA brewed only once a year, released during the last two summers to celebrate Hop Jam; Vermont's annual lupulin-centric beer fest. Notes: Fermentation temperature is no crucial for the beer. We try to shoot for about 60 F but the provided yeast strain is very forgiving to both higher and lower temperatures. A typical fermentation will be complete in about a week but can take longer with lower temperatures. Coffee should be added to fermenter(or conditioning vessel) no more than 24 hrs before kegging or bottling, ideally at a temperature below 40F. Longer exposure to the beans can result in vegetal flavors in the beer. |

Named after my old dog Billy-Bob. Dense layers of malt, caramel, chocolate, and a hint of light-roast coffee give way to reveal a slight hop character you'll be surprised to find if you're used to drinking English brown ale. The finish is complex but balanced, and the gravity is not so high as to keep you from having another.
