DME Required: 13.7 oz, 388 g to 3.4L starter
Growth Rate: 1.4
Intial Cells Per Extract (B/g): 0.23
Ending Cell Count: 632 billion cells
Resulting Pitch Rate: 1.27M cells / mL / °P
The "mixed grains" I'm starting from include:
6.38 lb pilsener malt (38.5%)
4.75 lb carapils (28.7%)
4.5 lb aromatic malt (27.1%)
0.9 lb Munich malt (5.7%)
16.53 lb Total Grains
Taking exactly 1/2 of a bucket (1/4 Cam's total amount) gives:
3.19 lb pilsener malt (need 6.8 lb more)
2.375 lb carapils
2.25 lb aromatic malt
0.45 lb Munich malt (need 1.55 lb more)
8.27 lb Total grains
I'm building my recipe for a total of 7 pounds of mixed grain
2.71 lb pilsener malt
2.01 lb Carapils
1.9 lb Aromatic malt
0.38 lb Munich Malt
-------
7 lb Total grains
Tips to self:
one suggestion to mash 90 min, 149º
BU:GU should be 0.28-0.30 for good balance
primary fermentation 64-66 to avoid fusels
BIG starter (4L?) and BIG blowoff coming
-------------
Check water.... will need 2 pots with heating water at sparge. 1 for mash out, and 1 to sparge (slowly!)
