Notes: First attempt brewing full 5 gal batch with hibiscus. I would go lighter on hibiscus next time I brew it (about half). Abv is too high for an average blonde. Still came out with no hot/boozy flavor. bottle conditioned this one for 3 weeks. Came out really well.
The herbal, floral and sweet spice notes from the Hallertau pair really well with the floral notes from the hibiscus. The hibiscus lends a really nice cranberry-like tartness and a deep pinkish/crimson color along with some rosey aroma. The amount of hibiscus overpowers the malt character that I think all blondes should have. But, still delicious.

- Switch from WLP320 American Hef to WLP090 San Diego Super to remove esters and add crispness
- Reduced whirlpool hopping utilisation from 5% (previous thumb-suck) to 1% for IBU calculations (rough alignment with Lyrebird_Cycles IBU spreadsheet), since previous version was well under-bittered
- Increase 20 minute hop addition to replace lost IBUs from the whirlpool
- Lowered mash temp from 67 to 65.5 deg to improve attenuation and increase dryness / crispness |

Notes: 2/11/18:
Brew day. Squeezed the crap out of the bag with my body weight and got almost .8 gallons out. Had to add .5 gallons to the end of the boil to make 5 gallons into the fermenter. OG = 1.076
2/12/18:
4pm: Pitched 2 packs of re-hydrated yeast @ 50°F (10°C) and immediately raised temp to 53.6°F (12°C).
2/14/18:
Finally noticed some bubbles around 3pm.
2/21/18:
Raised temp to 18°C over the next few days.
2/26/18:
Began lowering temp as low as possible to lager until a free keg opens up.
4/10/18:
Finally got a free keg to transfer to. FG = , forced carb at 30psi for 4 days.
4/14/18:
Lowered to 10psi
