Notes: Will be trying a bunch of yeast through this series. Cosmic Punch is a good one if you have the right hops. Trying to clear out the samples I got at HBC 2022 Pittsburgh, so there's some whole cone stuff and lupulin pellets. Not sure if it's really going to go, but will find out with Verdant and K97 co-pitched.
Also bought some Oast House Strata Extract and will add that at kegging. Recommendation was for 0.5 mL for 5 gallons at kegging.
If you're wondering, the rye adds considerable body along with the spelt (wheat) and oats. It's pretty thick
Back on my BS again for round 6. This time throwing in what oats I had and emptying out the freezer leftover hops. |

The International Arms Race was a new type of battle collaboration between hardcore American craft brewery Flying Dog and BrewDog. Both breweries attempted to brew an IPA with absolutely no hops. Allow the bay leaves to steep in the boil for extra time to extract some bitterness. The bitterness is really important to bring balance to an otherwise sweet beer.

Notes: not flaked rice, instead Chinese Black Rice put in a cereal mash
15-20min protein rest at 165F
30min light boil, then cool down to 155F, put in with the rest of the mash.
fine grind the rice before cereal mashing
pureed 2lbs of apricots and rainer cherries then boiled them in a pot for 10mins and let it cool down to 70F |
