Heat 2.5 gallons of water in a large pot to 155°F. Place the Crystal 40 malt and flaked corn in a muslin bag and steep them in the water for 30 minutes. Transfer the beer to a bottling bucket, mix in ¾ cup of corn sugar, and bottle the beer. Let the beer carbonate for about two weeks at room temperature. Refreshing, especially on a hot day. Overall a delicious, easy to drink, summer beer. A nice American pale ale with bursts of hop flavor.
