A vermont style IPA, with low background bitterness, loaded with intense juicy fruit character. Add the dry hops in separate muslin bags to increase surface area contact and reduce the amount of hop matter in the beer after dry hopping without reducing the characteristic hazy look of the beer.

Notes: add 2.5g gypsum (get from ubrew) and 15g CaCl and 18ml lactic acid to mash water.
add 350ml maltodextrin 15 minutes in to the boil
for whirlpool hop additions - wait for hour boil to complete and wort to chill to 65-70C then drop all hops in (100g El Dorado/50g Nelson). let stand for 20-30mins then chill to yeast pitch temp (17-23C).
All dry hops (100g El Dorado/50g Nelson) to be added Sunday 16th. |
