Notes: - When designing a recipe with a lot of hops, design it for 2 gallons more than the desired finishing amount. Liquid loss is no joke with hops.
- When whirlpooling a lot of hops, turn off the pump after you are done. Cooling the wort and turning off the pump will help settle out the hop debris and therefore will not get into your primary fermentation vessel. Way too much hop debris got into it. It looked like swamp water. |

Notes: Recipe from Brewing Nordic
Mash at 35–40°C (95–104°F) for 30 minutes. Raise the mash to 65°C (148°F), and hold at this temperature for 45 minutes. If you can, raise the mash temperature above 70°C (158°F) and give it a short rest. Sparge with 75–78°C (167–172°F) water.
Boil the wort for 75 minutes and bittering hops for 60 minutes. Add the aroma hops five minutes before the end of the boil. Chill the wort to fermentation temperature and ferment warm until complete. Bottle or keg with moderate carbonation. |

Ik weet niet waarom in het recept in Brewer's Friend blijkt dat de zouttoevoegingen alleen voor de puree zijn... en ik weet niet hoe ik dat moet veranderen. De toevoegingen van zouten zijn voor AL het water dat we gaan gebruiken zoals gespecificeerd in het recept en in de berekeningen van de geschiktheid van het water, wees voorzichtig en houd hier rekening mee bij het lezen van het recept in Brewers Friend. Zuurtoevoegingen zijn zoals vermeld in het recept voor zowel het Mash Water als de Mash.
OPMERKING: een goede vervanging voor MOSAIC Hop is SIMCOE in dezelfde hoeveelheden als in het recept. Ik laat deze opmerking achter omdat het afhankelijk is van het seizoen van het jaar, het vinden van Mosaic hop moeilijk is of het is een erg dure hop. Sterker nog, in de volgende uitwerking kan ik SIMCOE gebruiken in plaats van MOSAIC... zo zie ik de verandering :-)
