Brewed this beer in collaboration with Scott Birdwell on our 1 BBL unit at New Magnolia Brewery in Houston, TX. Despite an egregious error while brewing, the beer surprisingly turned out very well. Originally the recipe was aimed at being an India Brown Ale, i.e. a Brown IPA. However, we got a little distracted and did not add the whirlpool hops. So we threw them in after KO so we lost some IBUs and it showed in the final product. However, the beer was full of hop character you'd expect from the "C" hops and balanced out nicely with slightly sweet, maltiness. I guess we got lucky or had a happy accident. Next time will brew it as intended. Recipe has been renamed to Imperial Brown Ale and the hop addition according to our screw up.
