American ale tasted great. Nice malty/hoppy balance that you want in an american brown ale.
Irish ale had a sweet forward taste and a little clash with the hop bitterness. Overall not bad though. |

Notes: This is based off of British Ale Dudes Abbot Ale Clone. Converted to an extract recipe. We made it larger than target ABV on accident, but are very happy with the results. This beer comes out after a week in the bottle as a very hearty dark brown, crystal clear beer. The first word I have for it is BIG. The second I have is tasty. Even keeled and rich. If you want hoppy - keep looking. It tastes like fall should - no pumpkin spice. If you want rich and even and a finish that gently fades away, then try it. I enjoy it very much. |

Notes: Basic Extract instructions:
bring 3 gals. water to 150-165 degrees
add bagged grains ---30 minutes
remove grains
add extracts bring to boil
add bagged centennial hops --- 60 minutes
add bagged falconers flight --- 10 minutes
add bagged Amarillo --- 5 minutes
add bagged Citra --- 0 minutes
turn off heat let pot set 15 minutes
remove bags of hop
cool to 130 degrees
strain to fermenter
add 2 gals. cold water
when wort temperature is 70-80 degrees
pitch yeast/sprinkle dry on top
stir/agitate/aerate
