Notes: My attempt at an older version of the western IPA. I prefer a bit of caramel in the beer and I prefer the older piney hops.
I wanted to use Chinook hops but didn’t have any at hand.
Tasting Notes:
I did get the extra caramel flavor that I was looking for. In fact it was a bit more than I wanted.
The hop combination that I used was a flop. It reminds me of the IPA flavors that I find in some breweries. The beer is well made but the flavor can only be described as uninspiring. |
