Notes
Brew Day 5/11/17
Mash temp only at 144.7 with 162 degree strike water and 20.25 lbs of grain at 66-67 degrees. Added 3/4 gallon of 195 degree water to get mash temp up to 149-150
First runnings at 1.081. Pre boil kettle volume of 10 gallons with OG of 1.061. Post boil volume at 8.5 and approximately 7.8 gallons when wort cooled to 75 degrees. Lost another 0.75 gallons due to trub in the kettle.
Added sugar after flameout due to suspected low gravity but this was a mistake. Shooting for 6-6.5% ABV so need to back down grain bill by 2-3 pounds if achieving 70% efficiency which seems to be the trend
Whirlpooled at 182 and at 169. Let rest for 45 minutes after 169 addition.
