Blending strike and sparge waters at brew start. Adding water salts/additives to blended water. NOTE: everything but the citric acid for setting the pH. Adding those separately to strike and sparge waters as listed.
After fermentation completes, lower temp to 54F and remove yeast prior to dry hopping.
Using equivalent hop extract for both Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin DRY HOP additions. Abstrax® Quantum Series. 2.5mL each, added at kegging.
Brewing for local brew club competition March 2026.
Original recipe used 13.5 oz carapils in the grain bill, but after I ordered I realized I was out. Substituted 1lb flaked barley for this. If I brew again, I would use the carapils @ about 7% of the grain.
