Target Water Profile
City of Chicago (North) - Q1 2019
Notes
- Brewed on 5/3/25
- Getting creative on this brew. Using my 10 gallon cooler to mash to huge beer. Then will transfer to grainfather for boil.
- Plan to get strike water to ~162.5F in grainfather
- Heat up ~3 gallons of sparge water.
- Had to end up adding 12.7 oucnes of DME to hit 1.10
- Dry hopped on 5/8, fermentation seems almost complete but still bubbling slowly
- Took a gravity reading on 5/10 and it was at 1.018-1.019
- Packaged on 5/16/25, batch #128, FG was 1.015 (at 69F) which converts to 1.016 so 81% attenuation vs XX% avg. and 78.5% expected
- Fill keg to 52.21 pounds = (1.016FG x 8.345 x 5 gallons) + 9.68 (empty keg weight). Only got 50.7 pounds, probably due to dry hop, increase batch size to 5.75 target next time to yield 5 gallons.
