Notes
First Run:
Imperial yeat 200B cell count produced Aug 8th - ~ 150 bil viable cell count predicted
Grains crushes at Mainbrew Hillsboro
Tasting notes - Very nice grapefruit/tangerine aroma and flavor which dissapated somewhat over time. Strong malt backbone and sweetish/caramel finish. A little too malty and not bitter enough to be a real pale ale, probably ended up more like a CA common but very enjoyable. Skipped dry hops.
Second run:
Switching yeast to Flagship, simplify grain bill, increase bitter hop IBU addition and split 2 oz simcoe between 10 min and flameout
Also messing with water chemistry to increase Ca, Cl, and SO4. Small pH correction to help with light grain bill.
Flagship mfg on 9/19 ~170 b viable cells at pitch
