Still dialing in the system with the new recirculation pump. Haven't used Golden Promise before, and I may have run the mash a little thicker than I'm used to. 2 lbs of flake in the recipe likely didn't help BHE, either. That stated, my BHE was down 8-10 points. I think I'll rethink how I approach mashing a bigger bill with adjuncts. That's the first sub 80% BHE I've had since I don't remember when. Still gonna turn out a respectable IPA, but she's not goin' over 6% ABV this time around. Gonna redo this one, based on how it tastes. If it's good, I'll redo it bigger.
Edit. This one turned out amazing. I'll redo it for sure. Hopefully I'll get a few BHE points back second whack.
