Target water was devised by chatGPT to be a balanced Dry Stout. quote "A well-chosen water profile materially affects how this dry, roast-forward stout presents. The goal is to support roast smoothness, maintain a dry finish, and avoid harshness."

Started with distilled water and added salts to nearly hit target profile.

Notes

I haven't brewed for over 2 years. It appears that home brewing is a fad that is fading. My local supplier, Grow Masters, discontinued it's beer supply operation. The only other in the area is Perfect Brewing in Libertyville, IL. I haven't bought from there for over 10 years.

My supplies for this adventure came from Northern Brewing. I found it to have excellent choices in grain/malts. I also bought enough supplies to qualify for free shipping. Yea!

Disregarding equipment depreciation and maintenance costs - propane is getting really expensive - it costs me just over $US 1.00 per bottle. It's always a long day consisting mostly of washing and sanitizing, but I love it and occasionally I make a really good brew.
