Notes: Steep grains for 40min @ 170°F.
Bring water volume up to 3 gallons. Add extract. Bring to a boil and boil for 15 minutes to boil off DMS.
After 15 minutes, add 1oz Fuggle hops, start 60 minute timer. After 60 minutes, kill flame and add 1oz Cascade.
Begin chilling wort, get it down to 70°F, rack into a cleaned/sanitized fermenter, pitch WLP007, cap with an airlock and set in a cool dark place to ferment for two weeks. Make sure the fermenter is kept warm enough to maintain a 68-70°F fermentation temperature. Bottle with 4oz of priming sugar after two weeks and condition/carbonate for at least a week. |

Notes: get 6 gallons of distilled water
bring 5.5 gallons to a boil
take off heat and add in the DME 1lb
start your 60 min boil with DME
add the Hallertau hops (1 oz) for the full 60 min boil
after 30 minutes, add the Hersbrucker for its 30 min boil
add the LME with 15 minutes left in the 60 minute boil
cool wort down to pitching temp.
add to fermenter and top off with left over distilled water if needed.

Notes: This is one juicy NEIPA. Used free Falcon and Falcon 7Cs. Falcon has more bite and 7Cs is the juice. Enjoy.
Add 4oz rice hulls to steeping grains to prevent caking of oats
Add IPA mineral pack to pot with 3 gal distilled water
Add grains keep below 155deg for 30min - 45min
Next add 3lb malt to wort for boil with 2oz Falcon hop addition (add 1 gal dist wtr)
Add Wyeast nutrient 10min left in boil
On knockout, add the remaining 8.8lb of malt, 2.5 gal dist wtr and 2oz Falcon (.2lb of malt loss to leftover film in 2 containers)
Once temp below 147deg add both 1oz Falcon & 1oz F7Cs hops
Fermenter 4th day drop 2oz F7Cs
Fermenter 10th day drop 2oz F7Cs
Keg on 12th day
Falcon hops: Simcoe, Sorachi Ace, Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Citra, Cluster, Columbus, and Crystal
Falcon 7 "C" hops: Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Citra, Cluster, Columbus, and Crystal |
