rebrewing this year. used to be 8 and 8 on the munich malts but adjusting it slightly for little lighter color...i remember the color being fine but its looking dark on this estimator and im over the range on SRM....the adjustments also appear to fix ph

brewed last night. came up 1055 OG, was supposed to be 1065. added 1lb sugar. also have more hops than i planned for, bumping from 3 to 4oz in dry hop.
also changed the volumes. i think this may be the source of confusion in my recipes. i no longer boil off more than a half gallon and most times my pre boil volume is 5.5 gallons, not 7. need to watch out for this going forward.

bravo was unavailable so subbed with columbus. not sure the AA need to adjust that here in the recipe to what i got.
also decided to add salts according to the bling bling recipe, although maybe shouldve catered it a little to this recipe, since the malt bills are way different and now my projected mash pH is really low...
seems like adding 6g baking soda will fix it???

update 10/14/2024
how is it its been almost 5 years and I have not come back to this recipe?? crying emoji.
adjusting for current bad efficiency, boosting to over 6%, at the moment planning for tap water although maybe should adjust for west coast / cold IPA . increasing hops. trying to hit mid range ibu for ipa. then moderate whirlpool and dry hop.
need to fix pH and consider water adjustments
it is now better understood by me that this is primarily a bittering hop, but some people have said it has nice aroma and flavor qualities. would this be better in a smaller 5% version, pale ale? or does it have enough flavor to work in a full blown IPA? worth the experiment I suppose.

update 11/11/19
adjusting the IBU and BU/GU down. just finished with calypso which was around 50 IBU and 0.85 bu/gu and it was kinda too bitter. moving late addition hops from 15 minutes to 10. down to 43 IBU and .73 BU/GU
