Notes
  1. Add water agents to 5 gals water in brew kettle, stir to dissolve.
  2. Heat wort to 155-160 degrees.
  3. Steep Golden Promise & Honey malts for 30 minutes. Remove steeping grains from kettle, letting liquids naturally drain from grain bags.
  4. Add DME to wort, stirring briskly to dissolve DME.
  5. Add water to wort to bring quantity to 7.5 gals; bring wort to boil.
  6. After 15 minutes boil, fresh (wet) hops.
  7. After 30 minutes boil, add maltodextrin.
  8. After 50 minutes boil, add yeast nutrients.
  9. After 55 minutes boil, add Whirlfloc tablet and fresh (wet) hops.
  10. After 60 minutes boil, turn off heat.
  11. Add water to wort bring quantity up to 7.5 gals; maintain wort temp at 180 degrees; add hops for hop stand for 15 minutes.
  12. Cool wort, transfer to fermentor, areate, and pitch yeast.
  13. After krausening slows down (3-4 days after pitch), add hops to fermenter.
  14. Keg when fermentation has finished.
  15. Refrigerate keg for 24 hours; force carbonate at that time.
