Notes
  • Brewed on 2/23/19
  • Took mash water and sparge water volumes from the Grainfather brew session tool
  • Expecting mash efficiency of 88% which implies a pre boil gravity of 1.042
  • Mash temp settled right it at ~152F
  • Hit 11.0 plato pre boil gravity which converts to 1.044 vs. 1.042 target so 92% mash efficiency (missed a little bit of sparge water which contributed to the higher efficiency although I was close to 6.75 gallons pre-boil volume) vs. 88% expected
  • Expecting to boil down to ~6 (5.95) gallons so boil-off tool estimates 1.048 OG. Actual original gravity reading was 12.2 plato which converts to 1.049 vs 1.048 expected.
  • After boil had ~6.0 gallons (expected ~6.0) in the kettle and ~5.5 gallons made it into the fermenter
  • Pitched the yeast starter and set fermentation chamber at 64F
  • Packaged on 3/7/19, FG was 1.011 (at 67F) which converts to 1.012 so 75% attenuation vs 75% avg. and 76% expected
