1 tsp of gypsum, 0.5 tsp of epsom and 1 tsp of calcium chloride with the same 5-6 gallons of filtered tap water sparge and 5-6 gallons of RO water. Hit mash temp of 152 and ph of 5.28 with salts added about 1/2 way in. added extra RO water for total of 11 gallons as boiled and added to bring to mash out temp. Sparge water ph brought down below 6, with 1/4 cabdin tab added.

Notes

Homemade 4 pounds of horse feed barley malted and probably a little under kilned with rootlets hard to fall off and under-crushed grain. Hope the efficiency is good.

OG of 1.049 as I thought that my whole made malt would be a little under crushed and a little green for the process; but whatever, this is still a good GU for this beer style. I'm glad I scaled the IBU down by about 5-10 IBU's, as I knew this might be a little astringent. Hopefully the grassy, less than perfect kilned green grain is not too crazy bitter for my beer. Farmhouse, fuck yeah! Heading toward terrior just one experiment at a time.
