Notes

A BIAB stout for my birthday! My mom always makes me a spice cake for my birthday cake, so I wanted to try and capture that flavor in a beer.

Lactose was added with 15 min remaining in the boil, molasses was added at flameout.

During fermentation, I infused 1.5 cups of bourbon with:
2 vanilla beans (split, whole pod)
1 cinnamon stick
3 whole cloves
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
At bottling time, I will strain the solids and add bourbon to taste (estimating about 1 cup).
