Notes

This is Club challenge - starting with a base of 10lb of 2-row base malt, purchase off-the-shelf grocery items to create something interesting. Obviously, hops and yeast are not included in the restriction, but these are not supposed to be hop-forward beers.

I opted for a high-adjunct cream ale with coconut. This is quick oats and cornmeal, which I am doing a cereal mash for (NOTE - just buy flaked corn, cereal mashes are a pain in the ass!)

13oz of lightly toasted + blotted coconut added to post high-kreusen primary.

This came out super good. Everything comes through and the coconut is very subtle. Did NOT wreck head retention. I will making a round 2 with a little more more complicated grain bill - probably some honey malt - and NO CORN MEAL, I will source flaked corn next time.
