This beer was brewed at New Magnolia Brewing in Houston, TX on our 1 BBL pilot unit. The goal of this beer was to provide a low ABV pale ale with moderate amount of hop flavor/aroma. It came out a bit unbalanced to the hop side. The simcoe was really at the forefront of the flavor profile. I am wondering if it is a good hop for such a light beer. The cascade was a bit masked due to the prominent simcoe flavor. It is not a bad beer, just not what I was aiming for. Customers seem to like it (at the end of the day that is what really counts). I will take another stab at this and swap out the simcoe and lessen the hop dosage overall. Also I think to get a better balance, I would either increase the crystal or add some vienna to give it more balance between hops and malt. I rate it 3.25.
